This composite is of Fishtail Mesa in October 2018 is with late golden hour light on the mesa and the sky was from later in the evening. No ambient light at 2000' below the rim.

The Grand Canyon at night offers some of the world's best views of the sky. Either from the River from deep into the Esplanade the ambient light is almost totally blocked by the Rim.
